Ang 2023 edition ng ASME BPVC Section IX ay nagdagdag ng QW-358, na explicitly tumatanggap sa handheld laser welding para sa pressure vessels at process piping — at tinukoy ang IPG LightWELD technology sa qualification provisions. Implicitly accepted din ito sa ilalim ng ISO 15614-11:2025, AS/NZS ISO 3834, AS/NZS 1554 (structural steel) at AS/NZS 1665 (structural aluminium).
